Who is Eligible for apply for LDC and DEO Post ?

Applicants, must note that to get LDC and DEO Jobs, they have to appear in the Combined Higher secondary Level Exam, popularly known as CHSL Exam, and this exam has certain eligibility conditions, as given below.

1) Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.

2) Age-Limit: You should fall under the age bracket of 18 to 28 years

3) Qualification: You have passed the 10+2 Examination in any stream. 

Here is the Detailed, SSC CHSL 2016 Eligibility Criteria. As, you know, that SSC is yet to announce its Notification, so the eligibility criteria mentioned is that of previous year. We hope that there won't be any changes in the criteria, as this has been followed since the CHSL came into existence.

JOB PROFILE of Lower Divisional Clerk & Data Entry Operator

• The posts of LDC and DEO are both entry level posts. The work that you will be given in beginning will be very basic i.e. dealing with clerical work, entering data on computer, keeping track of all the documents etc. 

• But as you will start getting used to the job the responsibilities and the work pressure will be increased so will the income. 
If you will work hard and study side by side you can get permission very easily.

• You need to have basic knowledge about computer and typing. Please don’t worry after reading the word computer, because the level of knowledge they are expecting from you is totally basic. 

• But it is suggested that if you are not comfortable with using computer please be in touch so that at the time of joining you do not have to face any problem.


• As mentioned before LDC is an entry level post so the work load and pressure will not be high. You are expected to take care of basic and daily office work so as to maintain the flow of work in the office

• Their main job is to maintain data, office files, documents etc. with the highest efficiency so that there is no unwanted activity.

• LDC’s are supposed to get important files and documents for their seniors and get all the documents back to the senior on time.

• Working as an LDC you have to make salary slips of the staff and seniors working in various departments.

• The work of LDC is to fetch data from the library of information and serve them to the officer from time to time.

Pay scale of Lower Divisional Clerk:  Rs. 9200- 20200/ (Grade pay of minimum Rs. 1900/- per month)


Data entry operator is also an entry level post just like LDC. The work pressure will be mild in the beginning and will increase with the passage of time. The work that you will have to deal will be:

• You will be selected on the basis of knowledge you have in computers and English (or the language that you a proficient at)

• The work of DEO is to keep the data and information of the entire staff on the daily basis.

• DEO has to update all the important data in to the computer and the sync. it with the company’s profile.

• They are expected to keep data of the workers and all the staff.

Pay scale of DEO: Rs. 9200- 20200/ (Grade pay of minimum Rs. 1900/- per month)
