SSC CHSL 2017 Syllabus : Detailed Explanation

SSC CHSL exam is also known as SSC 10+2 Exam, OR SSC LDC and DEO Exam, so don't get confused, as this is one and same thing, and the same syllabus, only the terminology is different.

Before we discuss the syllabus, you must know the Selection Process for CHSL Exam.

The Selection process comprises of Written exam and followed for Type/ Skill test. The Structure, scheme and syllabus for CHSL Written exam is given as follows

Written Exam: All those applicants who successfully submit their applications before the last date will be called for a Written Exam provisionally. Applicants will have to Download the Call Letter / Admit cards, before appearing for the Exam.

The Date, Venue and Timetable of Exam, will be mentioned in the call letter. The Admit Cards for SSC CHSL 2017 Exam, will be available from the 1st week of March 2018.

The Written Exam, will have 200 Questions from 4 different sections with 50 Questions from each section. The Duration of Exam is 2 hours only.

Let us go and have a complete overview of the syllabus and exam pattern:

Number of sections: 4

Total Marks: 200 Marks

Total time allotted: 75 minutes

1. English (50 marks)
2. Quantitative (50 marks)
3. General Intelligence (50 marks)
4. General knowledge (50 marks)

Remember, there is negative marking and for that, SSC will deduct 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. So be very careful while attempting questions, as Cut-offs for this exam is usually very high when compared to other exams.

Here is the Pattern and Syllabus of SSC CHSL 2017 Exam

If you look at this syllabus,  you will find that this syllabus, is almost same as having for CGL Exam, the only difference is the difficulty level. While the SSC CGL syllabus is having a difficulty level of Graduation, the difficulty level is CHSL Exam is of 10+2 level.

Other than this, you should also note that CHSL is for 10+2's and CGL is for Graduates, so the Difference in SSC CGL Eligibility criteria and Exam pattern is obvious.

Meanwhile, there is no sectional cut for these exams, as we have in Bank Exams, there is only Overall cut off and those applicants who score higher marks and stood high in merit will be called for the Skill Test / Type test.
