This Exam is Popular: On an average, this exam is being taken by over 50 lakh candidates (64 Lakh Registered in 2016 Exam) for a few thousand posts. This post vacancy ratio in CHSL, make its one of the most competitive exams in India.

Its even more competitive that SSC's Combined Graduate Level Exam. In CGL-2016 Exam, 35 lakh applications were received and we expected that In 2017 CHSL may have recorded no. of applicants apply for the exam.

Another reason, that makes it more competitive is a desire to get Government Jobs, so early in life at just 18 years (After completing 10+2).

As, the Selection process for this exam, comprises of only Written test (Objective type) and a Descriptive Paper, therefore, cut-offs are generally higher, as only those, who qualify the written exam, will be called for Descriptive Paper.
